II Chronicles 7 -- After Solomon finished praying and offering sacrifices, after dedicating the temple to God, the glory of God filled the temple and the priests cannot enter because of The Glory. All the Israelites fell on their face and begin to worship God and offered more sacrifices unto the Lord 7 days.
Afterwards God appeared unto Solomon and he said I've heard your prayer and have chosen this place for myself as a temple for when I shut up the Heavens so that there is no rain, or command locust to devour the land or send a plague among my people, if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal the land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. I have chosen and consecrated this Temple so that my name may be there forever my eyes and my heart will always be there.
How often do we pray to God and when our prayers don't get answered we feel God has not heard us. We must trust that God always hears us and he will answer our prayers at the appointed time. But, God gave us 4 things to do before He would forgive our sins and heal our land: #1 humble ourselves, #2 pray, #3 seek his face, #4 turn from our wicked ways
God wants us to humble ourselves; not walking around prideful, but admitting our sins. After we admit our sins, turn from our sinful behavior; by repenting and asking God for forgiveness. True repentance is more than just talk it is a changed behavior. We can pray to God and ask Him to change us, because we know it is nothing we can do by ourselves, only the blood of Jesus can.
When we seek the face of God we're learning who he is, his awesomeness and who He is to us; not just what we can get from Him. We are to seek Him continually, God says draw near to me and I will draw near to you. When we seek His His kingdom first and all his righteousness, He will give us the rest. When we seek Him, we have the assurance to know, we will find Him.
God will at times give us conditions in order to receive His promises and consequences when we don’t obey Him. So we must make sure we're following those conditions. Deuteronomy 27 and 28 chapters list some consequences of obedience and disobedience. We are to love and serve God with all our heart, soul, and mind. Simply put, God just wants us to obey him no matter what happens and he will bless our efforts. One might be saying right now boy that’s a lot, how can I? Remember the blood of Jesus that was shed over 2000 years ago has never lost its power and the spirit of truth will lead and guide you. Just ask for help. You have the freedom to choose. Which path will you take.
Your land can be your home, your business, your finances, your marriage, your children or even your body, just to name a few, are you ready for your healing today? It may be a sacrifice to some, but you can do it.
