Why Should We Pray
Prayer brings God near to us. As stated in Deuteronomy 4:7 - What other nation is so great as to have their gods near them the way the Lord our God is near us whenever we pray to him? When we pray to God, it brings us in harmony with Him. We are able to know and hear the very heartbeat of God. We have to believe that whenever we go to God in prayer, it brings Him closer to us, as stated in James 4:8 -- if we come near to God, He will come near to us.
Prayer also acknowledges God as our sole provider for everything we need. We have to believe in our nore that only God can provide for us and He is a supplier of all our needs. His plans for us are to prosper us, give us hope and a future. As we call on Him in prayer, He will listen to us.
Prayer acknowledges complete trust in God. When we come to Him in prayer, we must first believe He is our provider. Next we must have complete faith in Him. When we ask according to His will in the name of His dear son, Jesus Christ, He hears us and answers our prayers.
